Build-Your-Own Animal Toast: Gluten-Free Breakfast

Some mornings need a little extra convincing to get a kid to the table before the bus comes. This is that morning's fix — four faces, one toaster, and a fruit bowl. Let the kids build their own, and breakfast turns into the thing they actually want to do before school instead of the thing you have to talk them into.

Why PACHA for Back to School

PACHA English Muffins are a certified organic, gluten-free sourdough muffin made from just two ingredients: sprouted buckwheat and sea salt — no gums, no binders, no xanthan gum. Each muffin has 5.4g of protein and 4.5g of fiber, a combination that's unusually high for a gluten-free bread product, most of which lean on refined starches with little of either. For gluten-free families, that means a base sturdy enough to hold up to fruit, spreads, and a lot of poking by small hands, while still doing real work to keep kids full through a full school morning. PACHA is also vegan and free of all top 8 allergens, so it's an easy yes for any classroom.

Nutrition Highlight

Here are both versions:

Approximately version

Every version starts from the same base: one PACHA English Muffin brings approximately 5.4g of protein and approximately 4.5g of fiber before any topping goes on. From there, the protein boost depends on the design — the peanut butter versions (Cat and Bear) add the most, approximately 3.5-7g of additional protein per tablespoon used, while cream cheese (Chicken) adds a smaller amount and hazelnut spread (Monkey) adds the least, since it's mostly fat and sugar rather than protein.

The fruit toppings across all four designs add fiber more than protein, with bananas and strawberries contributing the most. However the kids build it, the muffin underneath is doing the heavy lifting nutritionally, which makes this a smart base for a breakfast that's mostly play.

Protein and fiber totals for toppings are estimates and will vary based on specific brands and ingredient amounts used.
